He worked with Bela Karolyi for three years! Isn't that weirdly awesome!

Hey people,
Dude I haven't posted in forever!
Well there was just a gymnastics competion but I have to wait for a lap top where I can watch videos until I can post about it.

Anyway, recently I have been reading about gymnastics on the computer and figured out that gymnasts don't like to write very much. Like, I keep trying to look up what the famous gymnasts eat or their training schedule of something like that. I can barely find anything!
And what I do find is just the same thing over and over again. So I am writing a letter to the all time great Mary-Lou Retton and ask her some questions and maybe send her the link to the blog.
And if she writes back ( she probably won't because I imagine she is probably very busy with lots of fan mail ) if she does I might post a little of it on the blog.

Lately I have been having private lessons with coach Brian. Right now we are working on round-off flip flops. It is very hard. The part that is the hardest is pushing in the round-off to where both my hands and my feet are off the ground. I keep trying but I just can't get the hang of it. Tonight I have gym class and hopefully we will work on it a little. Also my flip flop is crooked so we have to work on doing it in a straight line. Also I'm piking in my flip flop instead of arching.
So yeah it needs a lot of work.

Told ya I'd post about mary lou.
Of course almost every one knows that she won the All-Around competition and got a perfect 10 on her vault! Absolutly the most amazing gymnast ever! I forgot what her book was called.
I think its called Mary Lou Retton creating an olympic champion.
I read NAdia Comaneci's book. I'll post abbout her tomorrow...maybe.

Just finished reading a book about another great gymnast. Dominique Moceanu.
Her book its just called Dominique Moceanu. She is amazing. But between her and Kerri Strug I think Kerri Strug is the better gymnast.

This is an amazing gymnast. I just finsihed reading her autobiography called "Landing on my Feet: A Diary of Dreams"

Here are things that some athletes/ healthy people eat. ( this is gonna be a long post =P )
This is what I try to eat.

Venus Williams
Breakfast: 1 piece of fruit or glass of OJ.
1 bowl of whole grain cereal OR
1 bowl of yogurt with fruit,honey, and granola

Lunch: 1 turkey sandwhich on whole grain bread with lettuce, tomato and mustard.
1 large salad containing lettuce, walnuts, raisins, feta cheese olive oil and lemon juice, and grapes. OR
1piece grilled fish or chicken with veggies. ( broccoli and potatoes)

Dinner: same as lunch only with brown rice

Snack: Nuts and fruit

OTHER FOODS: whole wheat pasta with meat, marinara sauce or cream sauce.

Lunch: Salad with fish or chicken

Dinner: Grilled fish and veggies ( or chicken =P)

Lunch: Salad, broiled skinless chicken, broiled squash, figs or berries

Hey here are some work outs I found on a website.

Leg Lifts - Hanging from a bar, bring your toes to the bar keeping your legs straight and breaking your shoulder angle as little as possible. This can also be done by bending your knees and lifting your knees to your elbows. It can also be done straddled lifting to a stalder position. (This is one of the best ab exercises around for strength.)

Wall Sits - Sit against a wall. Legs will be bent at about 90 degrees. This is an isometric exercise.

Isometric Push Ups
1. Starting in the push up position with arms fully extended, lower yourself to about half way to the floor.
2. Hold this position for 10-30 seconds remembering to breathe. Repeat 2-3 times.

Basic Push-up - Prone position, body tight and slightly hollow. Toes on the floor, hands below your shoulders. Lower yourself to the floor and push back to the prone position. No arching, bending, pikeing allowed. Keep your elbows close to your sides as this is a more functional movement.

Handstand Push-up - In a handstand lower as far as you can go and push back to handstand. This can be done against a wall either with your back to the wall or facing the wall. Facing the wall in the handstand will force better technique.

L-hang Pull-up - Hang in an L in either an under-grip or over-grip. Do a pull-up maintaining the L position.

One arm pull-up - Hanging freely by one arm perform a pull-up. This feat is accomplished by few. Working one arm lock offs, and one arm negatives will help you obtain this

Just got back from my meet!
It was SSOO fun! The first thing we did was get into our groups. My group was Group E. Then each group lined up and started stretching. After that My group went into the practice room and waited untill it was or turn to go out. The first thing we did was Floor. That was realy fun. I was about 5th to go. Coach Patt helpedme with my back bend and kickover. On that event I got a 9.3.
Then we went to vault. It did okay on that one. We got two chances incase we messed up. The vault we did was easy. We ran jumped on the spring board reached forward on the map and rolled. I think I gotg a 9.55 on that one. Then we went to Bars. I was the first to go on that event. It was pretty easy untill I had one leg on ether side of the bar and had to spin around. Other than that it was good. I got a 9.5.
Then we went to beam. i went first again. We did the routine. I think the best thing I did on that was the round-off dismount. =P. i got a 9.9! Almost a 10! After that we got awards. I got a T-shirt,a trophy, a tatto, 5 ribbons on a score card. Then My mom bought me another shirt! Today was awesome! g2g pack for camping now!!!!!!

Sorry I haven't been posting lately. My laptop does not have internete right now, and my other computer is to slow. Well, I have been very busy for the past week and sadly have not been able to practice gymnastics. I'm not to happy about that. =/

Yesterday was gymnastics class.
The coaches helped me but I still did it! It was so fun! And then on vault we ran jumped and rolled.
On the beam we just practiced every thing we normally do but on the big beam. On bars we did a glide, then a pull, two cast-offs and a back hip circle.
It was Fun!

Last night was gymnastics class. We just did our floor routine, beam routine, and did jumps on the trampoline. May 8th is when we are doing the performance. I just did like 3 hours of gymnastics at my house. I'll post some cool stuff later.

Last night was my gymnastics class.
This time we did beam,floor, and trampoline. It was fun.
On the beam I was doing a handstand and I fell. Now my leg is bruised.
Oh well. We got on the big beam. That was fun.
On floor we just went over the routine. On trampoline we practiced just different jumps. And I talked to one of my coaches while the other girls played in teh foam pit.

I got back from Class a hour ago.
It was really fun! First we started on the balance beam. We practiced our routines and and did round-offs.
Then we practiced floor. I did a Flip Flop on the pac-man!
It was so fun!!!!!!!!!!!
Then we went to vault and jumped on the spring board. Eight weeks from now my gym is gonna have a performance!

Hellow people,
lol. I have done stretching today. I am gonna skip the conditioning today.
But Im gonna work superduper hard 2morrow.
Anyway, We are going to the beach today,so I'm about to do gymnastics.
here is a list what I'm gonna do today.

*Beam*: routine,coupes,straight jumps,tuck jumps,round-off dismount.

*Floor*: routine,head stand roll,backwards roll,kick-over,handstand,cartwheel,round-off.

*Vault*: Knee run,kick run, toe pop, jump.

And anything else I can think of.

I'm practicing gymnastics right now.
So far I have done trampoline,stretching,work-out, and balance beam.
I still have to do Bars,Floor and Vault.
I'm about to do floor exercise. After I do those three things I'm gonna take a brake and do more later today.
I'm gonna try to go from 3-6 hours a day...we will see if it works.



This is a question, i need help.
My hair is very long,and very thick. It looks like chewbacca sometimes.
Anywhoo, I need a hairstyle that will keep my hair out of my way while I'm doing gymnastics. If you have any ideas please post them on comments.
Earlier i was reading and I read about some gymnastics stuff. A little bit later today I'm gonna practice.

I have practiced a few skills but not many.
In a minute we are going to go swimming.

Guess what!!!!!! My mom went to town and got me a trainign balance beam!!!!!!!
Its a plank of wood and it is 8ft long and 4 inches wide.
Its awesome!!!!! We have to find a way to make it stable and once we do i'll finally have something to practice on!!!!!!

Yesterday was gymnastics class. It was so much fun!!!!!!
I did my first floor routine to music! the music was Jail house rock.
After we did that we went to the bars. I didn't do so hot there.
But on the balance beam we practiced koupes ( coo-pays)straight jumps,levers, adn tuck jumps. It was all really fun!
